Help! 200 1984

I have a 1980 245 four speed w/od, this car has a planetary gearbox mated directly to the transmission. The gearshift knob has a switch on it that activates a solenoid at the overdrive which moves a plunger in or out which opens or closes a hydraulic curcuit which moves some stuff (fluid,planetary gears & clutches) around and gives you the option of a gear change of approx. 20%. It is wired to work only in fourth gear and is not automatically engaged.
