B230F Flywheel sensor or No Flywheel sensor 700

I am in the process of switching engines. My 88' 740 had a B230F engine and did not have a flywheel sensor. I purhased a B230F salvage engine and it does have the Flywheel sensor sitting on the block above the flywheel. Also, my previous flywheel did not have a metal band around it and this one does. Are the 2 interrelated and is this a problem. Help!
