If I remember correctly the capillary tube comes off of the expansion valve which allows different amounts of freon to pass. I believe that without it you will have no control over whether or not the a\c is on full or at minimum. A auto recycling yard might be a good place to start looking. Good luck Dave. If the tube you are referring to is the one off the heater control valve then several of the sponsors including IPD sell them for around $60.
