The cluster is easily removed. Remove various trim pieces around cluster by carefull prying to reveal 4 screws holding the cluster in place. Pull straight towards you a few inches then reach in and carefully remove several plugs and wires noting carefully where they go back. If you can find a gear its easy to install or install the whole cluster, your call.
