You can pull that idle motor, clean it with carb cleaner, and then spray it thoroughly with aWD40 or 3/36 type product to help free it up. As for replacing it, I do not know if the V6 one is the same as 4-cyl cars, but the 4-cyl ones are easy to find used and rarely fail.
As far as vacuum is concerned, just because you have good vacuum doesn't mean you don't have a leak somewhere. *ANY* air leak downstream of the AMM is going to cause these problems- spray the intakes, vacuum lines, etc with carb cleaner and see if idle speed increases- if so you found a leak.
