what do you think? of course it will be hot. it passes through water jackets in the engine. its purpose is to cool the engine. as it passes through it takes heat from the engine. it then goes through the rad to cool off. Oh yea did you try a pressure test on the rad cap?? it may not hold pressure past 16 p.s.i if it cant hold any pressure you may need a new one.
