That seems odd to me since the 240 and 700 NA had gone to the 016 AMM and LH2.4 with OBD, by then. Certainly the B230FT had the position sensor in '90. But then I am deducing this from my observations. If you have an '89 760 turbo with the Hall effect sensor, that is hard to argue with.
