That's a great rating system Chris! There oughta be an FAQ!
It's true too- my wife's first car, automatic '75 164E, we ended up selling it for $100 and in the end never got paid. It was... 1992? 93? something like that. Just got tired of working on it. Of course it never died.
Right now, my friend has one of the finest light-blue '75 164E automatics that exists - as you say, probably couldn't get more that $3000 due to the market for such things. It's got a perfect rust free Calif body, total engine + trans overhaul, perfect 90 244 leather interior, and runs and drives great. It ought to be worth $5000, but as you say... (it's only got 107K as well!)
He picked up another which IS for sale ( he'll never part with the '75).
Dark green '74, tan leather interior, no rust!! Very very original. Interior spotless. Has a big but superficial dent in the left front fender. Needs paint. All upper surfaces are flaking. It runs and drives. Doesn't need much.
I will be putting up a website with pics for it very soon. If you decide you need it right away, call Eurocars Plus at (860) 444-2001. If not, it'll still be there. Did I mention it's an automatic? Of course it is.
Volvo 164E (the E is for ELEGANCE man!) :)
