Vibrations when accelerating/deccelerating 200 1986

I doubt it's from the exhaust. Most likely from something that's turning: driveshaft, rotors, wheels. Have the wheels balanced just to eliminate that factor. Then inspect the driveshaft, transmission and motor mounts, in that order of likelyhood, IMHO. I take it you feel the vibration thorugh the floor of the car, not the steering wheel?
