Your screen name belies your good luck.

That alternator shows up in my old WorldPac Volvo Parts Catalog. It is a Bosch ReMan. unit, listed as optional for the 85-92 740 B230F. Likely it will work fine for you, but you may need to get the mount bracket from the donor car. Put in all three new rubber bushings while you're at it.
