VERY STRANGE PROBLEM '86 765T 700

You might be right!!! I did notice that the main fuel pump started to whine loud enough that my kids even noticed it. The noise would get louder and then fade away and would gradually get louder again. Why would the car be OK after I restart it? Could it be a loose electrical contact on the main pump or perhaps even the pre-pump might be faulty?
