I know what you mean. It is a transition. But once you get the suspension up to snuff with good tires, struts and sways, then maybe a K or VX3 cam, things start to look up. The quiet, reliable, refinement of the "new" 240s and the grudging respect the AW70 tranny earns eventually make you appreciate the car a lot more. The last of the 240s are just so tight and trouble-free when maintained, that they are worth looking into.
