For a while I've been thinking of the air flow, seems like it can always use more. I have to replace the nose since my ex took out an 86 or 87 Cougar with it years ago. Just a bit of a bend halfway up the grill, but I want it perfect sooner or later.

The thought came to me that an air scoop would help, but I don't want anything visible. I like the thought of people poo-pooing the old Volvo until I romp on it. I thought about taking the old nose after it's been replaced and with some cutting and possible welding (which I'd pay someone else for since I don't weld) to take the bottom portion of the nose and make a scoop that would fit underneath instead of being up on the hood. Could also mount lights in there. I figure it wouldn't have to stick down much at all, maybe an inch or so and route hose up and into the carbs. Cover it all with a bit grill and make it removeable so I could ditch it if it didn't work or it annoyed me.

What do you think? Insanity or something worth trying. It's going to be awhile, I have more important things right to do in the future.
