Given the multiple error codes popping up, you might also want to check the engine fuel injection system wiring harness. Make sure the Grounding wires are in good condition. It would sure be sad if you went the distance and put in a brand new engine and then see the very same problems you were trying to erradicate still there! 170k and needs new rings? Hmmm.
