1986+ Electronic Speedometer and rear Axle Speed sensor.

David Hunter is right about the sine wave, the rear axle sensor is a passive coil unit without any 'wave shaping' electronics. The sensor produces 12 pulses (or actually complete periods)/wheel axle turn so you'll have to perform some calculations for ppm figures at given speeds. I suppose someone else should help with that part, my SI unit (metric) figures probably would be nothing but confusing.

Late 240's use a 48 pulse/axle turn setup instead because of the need for increased sensitivity when ABS was introduced. This signal however is fed through a 4:1 divider before entering the speedo which remained unchanged.
