Disconnected hoses and other (dumb) questions

obviously i don't know turbos at all because what i said doesn't apply to turbos. Both hoses hook to nipples on the intake manifold but are on the top side near where the air intake hose is. their openings are facing the valve cover. The hose that connects to the nipple closest to the firewall should also have a y fitting that connects it to the vacuum unit on the distrubtor.
