FUEL PROBLEM-Boneyard??

Thanks,where is the intank pump fuse?Where is the hose I keep hearing might be bad,inside the fuel tank?The car did run better with a full tank,does the gas cap have to seal like on newer cars?Or does the intank pump eliminate that?
I've been assuming fuel pumps were ok because I was getting good spray from cold start inj.(maybe only one pump?)
