You did not say if you are a lady or a man - either wasy it makes no differnce - but it was an interesting side point...
As far as the rust - if it is a box section - this in not good.
If it is the floor pan, I fiberglassed all the perforating rust in my 78 242, in the trunk, under the rear seat, all four footwells (perimeter almost cut free).
This involved grinding paint ands whatever to clean steel, then applying fiberglass matting and resin/catalyst.
I enjoyed this type of job and the results are a dust free, solid car wht not perforations in the floor area.
Fiberglass has a few caveats (wear latex gloves, eye protection, have good ventilation) but it is easy to apply, conformes to any shape, can be installed in any position, and can be built up as heavy and strong as needed.
I used Marine grade resin. A bit more $$ but considered more permanent a repair. Go to a boat repair or fiberglass repair/fabrication shop, they will sell you material by the gallon and by the yard , at a much better price than auto parts/supply stores.
