electric fan mod dangerous?

I've personally seen factory pusher fans added to 240s as early as '79. My '92 has one.

I had a problem recently with the lines going to the charcoal canister which caused a very strong stream of very raw gas smelling fumes to blow strongly out of the bottom vent of the canister, I saw if for myself when the car was put on the lift, any spark would made it into a blow torch. It only took simple repairs to the lines to correct. Still I seriously doubt the car itself could have by any means provided an ignition source.

As a rule if electric fans were in the least bit dangerous they wouldn't be so wildly used. My '83 Renault LeCar has two electric fans and it's carburetted, no nice and sealed EFI like your '83.
