i not too long ago did a flush with Mobil 1 synthetic ATF on my 740. I noticed the shifting seemed a bit smoother. I have heard from many folks that the temperature of the transmission drops an appreciable amount, and as we all know, a cooler transmission is better.

It's expensive to do the flush, but I don't regret dropping the money for it at all.
