OverDrive installation this weekend... Do I need to do stuff?

I instaled a junkjard gearbox once that turned out to have a bad synchroniser. I have learned to live with it but I sort of wish that I had rebuilt it before instaling it. I dont know how much they cost but I would at least give the thing new bearings (those can be bought from a bearing supply shop for a couple bucks).
