Yea, thats the one I'm talking about. 3 contact switch number 40 in your diagram... though #40 looks like a two pronged unit in the pic, that is the right location. So....now we're all on the same page, but nobody knows what it is...??? Actually... what were the years that they had seatbelt lockouts such that the car wouldn't start if your seatbelt wasn't on? Maybe that was it, but it allowed the car to be started in nuetral so you could fix stuff?
But, I thought that was mid->late '70s. But...as I recall, that whole idea didn't work out, and it was deemed acceptable to disable the thing?
Curious addition...I found a M410 today with a B20 bellhousing from a 1800e... and... no mystery switch. Just a smooth casting where it would have been...
