1979 264 engine suggestions

Yeah but you don't have a disposible engine....typically when the B27 starts making cam noise, it's too late for the cams...but even replacing the cams requires pulling the engine or cutting holes in the firewall.....

I mean I didn't mean to sound flippant - I got over 180,000+ miles on my B28F equipped 1981 262C and it still ran fine when I sold it. The B27 is a even weaker animal...overly complex, unreliable, underpowered and thoroughly modern (not).... a Swedish/French perversion of bad engineering combined with shoddy workmanship and poor execution dropped into an otherwise fine automobile. If his car is sound and engine shot (yes properly diagnosed as D-E-D. dead) then he has options.....
