Alternators 1800 1971

"...I have already replace my Bosch 35 amp with a SEV Machel 55 amp..."

Have you said something sort of backwards???

Many years ago, when my original equipment SEV went bad, I was convinced to swap it out for a Bosch due to the Bosch being more easily repaired if it had a problem down the road. I don't know if that is still the popular opinion.

Regardless, if you're running a 35 amp unit, that seems a bit wimpy by todays standards, especially if you want to run gadgets like rear window defroster at the same time as the heater blower on high, at the same time as bright driving lights, at the same time as a mega-blaster stereo, and so on...
