Electronic Ignition Upgrade 1800 1972

Hi from Perú!

I use a low cost Accufire electronic ignition on my 121 (a 122 with four doors) Amazon car (http://www.geocities.com/yogui7). This ignition are very similar to Pertronix, but fits on the 121/122 black Bosch distributors (like the 009; the pertronix are too big to fit on the black old units).

Of course, if you want "punch" Crane is the best option.

Also, I fit a Crane on my cousin muscle car. Probably the engine bay on tbe 1800 are a little cramped, and due it, heated. The "computer/amplifier" (the box) need to be on a "cool dry spot with good air flow" (reference: Jacobs C, Performance Ignition Systems, HPBooks, 1999, pp 83, this book are available on Amazon.com- the author can be a egolatrist, but know about the theme).

We put the box on the front of the car, between the front mask (grill) and the radiator (on a Amazon I will like the same spot). If you put the box near to the engine, the heat can be affect the internal electronic components on the long run.

Joaquin

PS: To all readers, my excuses for my terrible syntaxis (I speak spanish).

PS2: A happy new year for everybody! (don´t drink and drive at same time :-) ).
