Tim - I knew that I had seen an article on a 164 running on LPG, and here it is:

By the way, I am planning on converting my 1970 145 to LPG in the spring. We had 4 sales vehicles on propane, and the engines far outlasted the bodies of the trucks! The lack of wear on an engine when it uses propane is nothing short of amazing - no carbon buildup, no dirty oil, etc...
