The thermo is about a year old (time to change) but the engine always heats up quickly and consistently. The needle always points verticle on the highway or idling for long periods. I think the thermo is working for now.

Sorry I didn't mention that in the first post. I think I'll change it anyway since it's about time and I'm sure winter is pretty hard on them.
