Source for higher amp alternators? 200 1985

The OE alternators have plates on them describing their output.. and the 100A ones will be a bit bigger. Plus I believe some of the later ones (of any output) had smaller diameter pulleys.

BUT. Before you spend all your time looking for a 100AMP Bosch unit... have you considered one of Dave Barton's external voltage regulator kits? That paired with a more common 60-90AMP unit might be just what you need. Admittedly it's hard to beat the PnP prices for alternators. And if you're so inclined, the Fairfield yard is big, but I liked the Oakland and Richmond yards for sheer Volvo selection (the Oakland has tons of Volvos, always).

If that's not it, and you're feeling up for adventure.. mosey on over to turbobricks and check out their GM/AC Delco alternator conversion. It's for a 700 series.. but you may be able to shoehorn such a beast under the hood of a 240. The big plus here is that the GM unit is cheaper and can be upgraded to beyond 100 amps easily.
