Probably 110-115MPH for the 8V GLE, maybe 120MPH for the 16V. The NA 240 hits the aerodynamic wall around 105MPH, and the 740 isn't that much more aerodynamic (Drag Coefficient (Cd) for a typical 240 is around 0.46, the 740 is around 0.40)


While a Volvo is typically steady and safe to handle at those speeds, you need a lot of 'runway' to get up there. And it's really not that much of a rush after all.
