SRS fault code...only one digit 700 1990

Single digit codes are correct. Later cars have more codes because they have more components (seat belts, dual airbags, side airbags).

A "5" is the most common bogus code, set off frequently by low voltage (connections, jumpstarts) or corroded connections somewhere in the system. It could be that the airbag itself is faulty. I can't remember what a "5" means.
