Talk to Borton Volvo. www.borton.com. I got keys made for a friend's 88 764T a few months ago locally (Borton is in Florida, but does mailorder). AFAIK the keys are still available. At the very least you could have a locksmith rekey the lock to your new key, cut a key for the lock (it's easier to cut one for the door lock -- fewer pins than the ignition lock), etc.
OTOH, I went in to get keys for my new wagon. The key code written in the owner's manual didn't work (ugh), and VADIS didn't have my VIN.. so no keycode there. The car was special ordered, so I wonder if that had anything to do with it.
If none of that pans out, contact me off the board. If I can get a key made, it would be $50.
