One data point on recent models 200

The owner of the indy Volvo shop where I take my car says that the 850/S70 series is pretty solid through 1998. Then Ford took over.

He says the 1999s are mechanically terrible--don't buy one. Says the 2000+ models are still too new to be sure about.
