So when they referrd to the "L. Shifter Seal", the "L" probably meant "Left".

I'm tempted to offer to do the noted repairs for her at a "reduced" price. The repair shop came up with $989 worth of repairs and prioritized them in order of importance, ie brake pads and exhaust work first, then strut rod bushings and trans leaks next, etc., etc.
