rattle near CAT

One of two things:

1. Heat shield around the exhaust pipe near the converter (depends on model). Diagnosis is easy. Slide under the car when the exhaust is cool and knock on the heat shields that you can see. You'll probably find one of them is loose.

2. Internals of catalytic converter are loose; Solution is to replace converter.
