Sounds odd to me too. 140-160

Humm... that's interesting, so when you join the two (engine and gearbox) so the input shaft is in the pilot bearing, there is still some space left for make an adapter-plate right? Can you tell me exactly on which type of Nissan/Datsun engine is was original mated to... I am really interested in doing a conversion too. I was first thinking about using a box from a 1g-gte toyota engine. (w58? or something like that...also making an adapter plate) and I also like the strange shift pattern of the datsun gearbox... Gotta go to the wrecker to look for the gearbox you said...
Any input or progress info would be great...
