What happens when a fuel pump check valve fails? I may have this problem

Alright. Back to the same problem I ignored and put the car away for winter [always is put away for winter as it is].

The car needed a battery, put a new battery in. I changed the thermostat to a 180 instead of the 160 i had when it was really hot out. New plugs, wires, power stage, swapped distributors [again this morning], fuel pump relay is clicking. The other relay under the hood is clicking also [the "radio suppression"-fuel injector relay], and replaced the engine coolant temp sensor for the ECU [more than once]. New 02 sensor a few thousand miles ago. There is fuel. Fuses are good. I placed dielectric grease on all connections to keep moisture out.

The car started fine in the garage, backed it out, drove it around the neighborhood, no problems and ran great.

Pulled the car into the driveway to clean the interior out. About 10 minutes later if that, the car would not restart!

The fuel system remains under pressure for some time after the last attempt to restart.

The AMM even unplugged, no luck in starting. Cranks fine as usual.

Pulled the plugs, fouled/wet. I am asking myself, why would it do this! I have never had this problem before and didn't correct it before the car was put away for the winter. I have hit a brick wall trying to find the cause.

I am sure there is a reason as to why these plugs are fouling beyond belief, 02 is good.

Suggestions? Willing to try anything at this point! I do not want to take it in anywhere. I will swap the plugs and AMM [with a good working spare i keep] and watch the same thing happen :) I am on digest so if you could, please fwd a copy to DanGTO@aol.com.

If anyone has any thoughts please post, i am stumped and do not want to take it in, can't afford to.
