Looks like you were correct! I climbed into the footwell after partially removing the knee panel. I found one of the tiny 4mm bolts is loose but with the gauge still in place and the minimal space to work with I couldnt get the torque required to tighen it back in place.
It looks to me to remove the gauge I unplug all the wires and the spedo cable undo the 2 hold down bolts then slide it into the dash then sideways to the passengers side. then pulling the left hand end of the gauge out first. Is this correct?
