REALLY long drives 140-160 1970

Any parts place should have all the spares you need, water pump, alternator, regulator. I have the GM alt and I must say it,s alot more reliable than the bosch. I've done thsi trip (almost anyway vancouver to montreal in a 120 4dr). And I had no problems all the way,the only thing I did was gas and oil ( 1 litre). Proir to the trip i did what i always do, changed all oils, dif, tranny, engine. I to have electronic ign., and as a back up I carry the old dizzy, with a good set of points and capacitor, this means I can alwys get home. That being said the bosch electronic ign from teh 76 240 is pretty much indestructable. have a nice trip and check your fluids. p.s. I once travelled for 2 days without any charging system, push started when I could, no lights or radio. Another time me and my pal in a 78 dodge Asspain, travelled 4 days with no charge, we bought a battery charger at walmart wisconsin, recharged the battery everynight, and returned the charger to walmart in portland oregon.
Finally, does anyone know howto disengage the overwrite on this site?
