HELP WITH GLOVEBOX INSTALLATION OF CD CHANGER 1995

Hi Steve

I was glad to hear from you. Both of our daughters have 95 940's. We purchased them both within the last 3 months. A shop which services only Volvo's had installed the changer in the glove box on one of the 940's(per receipt left with car when we purchased it) It works good. I ordered as you noted a CHM-S630 Alpine with the VOLALP adapter from sound domain for the other 940. You are correct about the challenge. Tonite I removed glove box thinking the changer would fit. The changer is about one and a half inch deeper. I would have to cut a small hole in the back. But as you noted, the back will probably set very close to everything you mentioned. I am really a novice at all of this therefore going to the trunk I would not do. The air bag assembly in that area really spooked me. Is there any risk in taking the glove box down (2 screws) in that area. The air bag looks like there are no loose wires in that area that I should worry about. It is still scary to be able to see the bottom of the canister with the glove box down. Lastly can I splice into one of the wires from the radio head unit for the power supply for the changer. I am glad to speak to you again Thanks Bill
