I don't think your car would run without the CIS computer. I could be very wrong, I've never tried it, but I wouldn't want to. There should be (working with memory here) two smaller black plastic plugs, and one large one. The CIS computer is a silver metal box, and that gets the large plug. The two smaller ones fit into a black plastic computer, I believe that's for the Lambda-sond Oxygen sensor system. If you don't have either box, then I really don't think the car would run. If you don't have the black plastic box, but you do have the metal one, then yes your car would run poorly as the Oxygen sensor system is not working.
If I were you, I'd DOUBLE CHECK that the computers are not floating around somewhere. How long have you had this car? Was someone else working on it? After figuring out where the computers went, I'd go to the dealer to get the part numbers for your model year and buy replacement units from a junkyard. The cheaper the better. I never found a bad one. That's my 2 cents.
Good luck-
