It will probabley run rich if MPS is bad. Throttle switch is the most likely cause of your cut out problems. Try the link below for overview of troubleshooting. Not Volvo specific Djetronic but most parts the same but locations and part numbers will vary.

Link has good info indept stuff on MPS etc. Do a search on Djetronic to get more sources.
