If the tach does not bouce up then you do have an ignition problem. This means no pulses are getting to the coil. Most likely causes are power stage amp mounted on driver side fender and the hall sensor in distributor. Not sure what you mean by ignition control system??? The hall and power stage are part of the ignition system and are prone to failure. The ICU rarely gives trouble.

Do not understand you referenec to 6 cyl engine IC's??????
