If it's a 4-cylinder......
a) It's a belt, not a chain, and
b) The engine's non interference. A broken belt means the engine stops, but is not damaged.
The belt wholesales for around $10. At 150k miles, consider a tensioner and the three front seals.
These items (belt, tensioner, seals) should retail around $75-100, or so.
It's about 3-4 hours labor, though many shops go by the "flat rate" manual. A dishonest shop will bill separately for the belt and the seal replacements even though they're almost the same job -- that's why you do them together.
