Bruce is correct, the click is the indication that you've reached the preset torque limit. Also, you should know that torque readings will be lower if the bolt is lubricated- that is, with never-seize or something on the threads, you can actually overtorque a bolt, or strip one out- always be cautious with this technique on anything threaded into aluminum, like a spark plug.
