Alex has got it -- remove the lower radiator hose. I use my oil change catch pan to catch the coolant. It's just wide enough. But I still make a mess, and I need to hose everything off (in the summertime particularly to avoid attracting yellow jackets). To get *all* the old coolant out, you still need to let some out of that brass nipple. I'll respond to your query about its location in another posting.
