Scan Tech did good this time... 700 1989

I'm the one that posted about the Scan Tech overload coils, and I should clarify a few things.

I knew my old coils were shot. The back end really sagged when I loaded up the car. When I installed the new coils, the back end was about 1/4 inch lower than with the old springs, and the back end looked lower than it should be.

Another BB'er advised me that when springs get old, the tend to get taller and at the same time easier to compress - which means that your car will sit higher at each corner when unloaded, but sink lower than it should when loaded. I believe that with the new coils in back, my rear is where it should be. However, I've still got old coils up front, which make the front sit too high (and it really looks high)... together, this gives my car the appearance of rear sag. I'll change the front springs soon & report back on that.

As for the Scan Tech HD coils... in the past couple weeks, I have completely loaded up the car 4 times, and the coils have really performed well. The back end moves down a tiny bit & stays there. The ride has been quite good both loaded & unloaded.

Scan Tech has been getting quite a thrashing here lately, and I'm sure in most cases they've earned it. Many of their products are cheap, but not good quality. So far I'm very satisfied with the Scan Tech springs, and highly recommend FCP.
