'68 1800 won't crank... fairly new(less than 1000 miles) air filters, plugs, plug wires, points, rotor, fuel pump and filter. I pulled the tops off the bowls on the carbs.. I guess they are the bowls.. fuel line attaches to one then T's off to the coresponding spot on the other carb.. three small screws on the top of each.. there was liquid up to about 2/3 to 1/2 inch from top. Also when the filters are off what should the pistons inside the carbs be doing? The one on the right lifts and lowers about 1/4" and makes a clicking noise.. the one on the left barely moves. Is it possible there is water in the gas? How could I tell for sure?
There is the possibilty of dead battery.. Car turns over when on jumpers but won't even threaten to fire.. will get new battery in a day or two to try that out.
Thanks for any help..
