Injector Spray Pattern? 700

I have a 1990 740GL NA with 322,000 miles. Runs like a top. It was due for Calif. smog check so I performed some preventative maintenance consisting of new plugs, cleaned throttle body, cleaned injectors, new injector seals, etc. Passed the smog test with flying colors.

To clean the injectors I kluged together an injector cleaner consisting of a pressurized canister (30 PSI), to contain the injector cleaning fluid and fuel, connected to the injector on the bench. I activated the injector with 12VDC through a 60 ohm resistor. My question revolves around the "spray pattern". Everything I have read and pictures I have seen indicate that the fuel should "spray" from the injector. My injectors "streamed" the fuel. They ejected a pencil thin solid stream of fuel from the nozzle when activated. All four injectors behaved in an identical manner. Yet, the car runs great, gets 26+ MPG. (And passed the smog test.)

Does anybody have any experience in this area. Any opinions, ideas? Did I just not have enough fuel pressure to cause the injector to "spray". Am I concerned about nothing here????

Thanks for the help and ideas.

Guy P.

PS- I need a few interior trim panels that I cannot find at the local boneyards. Does anybody know of a place that I could get these interior trim items (new or preferably used)???
