dreaded trailing arm bushing replacement 120-130 1967

<<..... is the sad fact that on the suspension setup for this year, a pair of the traling arm mounting points which is welded to the body is of a smaller gauge sheet metal than all of the other points. The mounting hole of this item can be easily stretched out of round and can cause a persistent clunking sound when you accelerate or stop hard. So if you have any sort of machining services available to you, I would attempt to beef up this spot and make sure that the hole is round. ....>>

Is it the aft mount points for the arms with the humongous bushings at the axle, or the smaller arms with the same bushings at each end? So what do you recommend? I would think that you can't "thicken" the mounting points up with say, a heavy washer because then the bolts might not be long enough, or the bushings wouldn't fit between the mounts. Or is the idea to weld heavy washers with the right size holes on the outside of the mounting points and use longer bolts?

I do have a mild clunk now when starting out in first, or in reverse. Thought this might be due to slight rotation of the whole axle as a result of bad large bushings.
