I am somewhat in line with Darius thinking. After you fix the head, you will have that part behind you. Each thing you do is a learning experience with the car. The biggest thing that I can see is things failing that leads to an overheat. As long as we keep the hoses changed, and make sure that the radiator is good - these cars will pretty much run forever with regular upkeep.
Thing is - if you get any other older (pre 94) 940,740 - with any mileage - you will have to make sure that some of these same things are right - and then still do the standard things that come. Even if you find one with really low mileage - there are issues there - as these cars love to be driven.
Good luck.
